The morning of 16 December started with an air-raid siren sounding throughout Ukraine. Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration, has said that about 60 missiles were launched.

“The first missiles are coming in. We expect about 60. They are already over the territory of Ukraine in the north”.

An air-raid siren was sounded in the east of the country at 08:00, then spread to the entire left bank [of the Dnipro river]. At 08:10 an air-raid siren was sounded in Kyiv, then in Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia oblasts.

As of 08:15, air-raid sirens were sounding in 16 oblasts. At 08:33, air-raid sirens were sounded throughout Ukraine. Telegram channels reported that Russia had launched Kh-101 missiles.
