123 IDP households will get dwelling space and associated title ownership on houses

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia held and led an Executive Government Meeting. Agenda of the meeting included 12 items for discussion by the members of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Topics of discussion included a draft law on the transfer of property rights on currently state-owned real estate through privatization, on the grounds of which 123 IDP households will get dwelling space and associated title ownership on houses located in Tbilisi, Zugdidi, Gori, Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Mtskheta, Batumi, Akhaltsikhe, Khobi, Martvili, Senaki, Tsalenjikha, Poti, Chkhorotsku, Kobuleti, Gurjaani, Tetritskaro, Gardabani and Khashuri.

In addition, Government Members discussed a Draft Law on Amendments to the Budget Code of Georgia, in line with which municipal revenues will be increased gradually from the management of state-owned land plots registered within their territories. Also, Draft Law revisits the share distribution of revenues generated from such property, so that municipal budgets get additional inflows through the real estate located within their territories.

Another Draft Law discussed at the Executive Government Meeting was related to the commencement of construction works for the comprehensive water supply and sewage system to be installed in Khashuri.

Total cost of the project is almost 225 MLN GEL and a water supply pipe of about 160 kilometers will be built during 5 years with a sewage system of about 45 kilometers, state-of-the-art treatment facility and source unit of the drinking water which will be rehabilitated and upgraded along with water reservoirs and other infrastructure outlets. Upon completion of the project, 24 000 local subscribers will benefit from the well-functioning water system.
