Since the pseudo-democratic system was destroyed by the Georgian Dream in 2012, our team did most of all on the path of European integration - Garibashvili

Since the pseudo-democratic system was destroyed by the Georgian Dream in 2012, our team did most of all on the path of European integration, said the Prime Minister of Georgia, while delivering speech in the Parliament.

“Now, let me move to the following topic. Question was about the efforts made by the Government for getting a status of an EU Candidate Country and what are our expectations, what we do now and how all 12 recommendations are met.

Before answering the questions, let me remind everyone that since the ugly and pseudo-democratic but in essence and substance, expression and forms of governance an absolutely degraded, autocratic system of dictatorship was destroyed and demolished by the Georgian Dream led by Bidzina Ivanishvili on 1st October 2012, we – our team, all of us together – did most of all on the path of Europeanisation – path of European integration – and it is said with great pride. We have done most of all since regaining our independence! We did most of all!

I wish to remind several specific milestone achievements to our opponents. First one of them is our main document, serving as a roadmap and guidance of our actions, is the EU-Georgia Association Agreement. It was made possible three years behind the schedule, as talks and negotiations started three years later by the previous team in government, i.e. authorities led by MP Vashadze and his team members. Visa-Free Travel Arrangement and Action Plan of Visa Liberalization was offered to Georgia only after we came to power. It was also started by the previous rule behind the schedule. In real sense, within the past 10 years, it was us who signed the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, Free Trade Agreement, Visa-Free Travel Arrangement and now – within this new reality – we accelerated the pre-announced process by making an official application for EU accession. Country was thus granted a European Perspective”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
