Positive messages of Olivér Várhelyi are another proof that we are on the right path - Kakha Kaladze

Positive messages of Olivér Várhelyi are another proof that we are on the right path. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“I want to respond to the visit of European Commissioner to Georgia. We heard clear messages from Olivér Várhelyi supporting Georgia’s European integration. I think it was very important to see and recognize the progress and forward steps that Georgia has achieved on the European road.

It was also very important to acknowledge that the Georgian Government is actively working on the implementation of the 12-point plan. We have talked about this many times, and I want to emphasize once again that the Government is ready to implement the 12-point plan.

It was very important to recognize that there are positive changes in the direction of judicial reform, the right steps have been taken from the economic point of view, and that Georgia is an advanced country in the fight against corruption. Our population knows all this very well, they know very well how important it is to maintain peace and tranquility in the country, which gives us economic development.

Also, the population of Georgia knows very well how many steps forward we have taken and how many achievements there are on this difficult path called Europe and European integration.

Also, they know very well the price of the heartache when Georgia was completely unfairly and undeservedly denied the status of a candidate country. Thus, the positive messages of European Commissioner and expressed willingness to cooperate in various directions are another proof that we are on the right path and will do everything to protect the interests of Georgia and our population.

As for the first priority defined by the European Council - depolarization, we are fully ready to take concrete steps in this direction, although it certainly cannot be unilateral. Once again, I want to call on the radical opposition to end the deepening of polarization, to get involved in the European integration processes of the country and to participate in the implementation of the recommendations issued by the European Commission”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
