The discussion of the existing practice of recording work time was held at the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

According to the Labour Code of Georgia, all companies are obliged to record work hours of employees for precise defining amount of salary, reimbursement of overtime hours, sick leave and vacation.

The changes to the recording were discussed in the format of tripartite commission. They will come into force from November 8. The regulation on recording work time had become operational in the country from March 1, 2021.

The accumulated experience made possible further increasing flexibility of recording form.

The interests both of business and employees were taken into consideration in the process of development of the system.

The obligation on paper-based or electronic recording of work time stays unchanged. Information should be reflected on a one-time basis or periodically during the whole month.

The employers are obliged to present information on worked hours to their employees.
