I would like to openly call on the President to take responsibility and release Nika Gvaramia. Such a statement made the Chairwoman of the United National Movement parliamentary faction.

“Nika’s freedom is very important for the European integration of Georgia, including in terms of the fulfillment of the 12 points, since the freedom of Nika is directly written in the resolution of the European Parliament.

Despite the fact that I know Nika’s attitude towards this issue, I will reiterate my call and I would like to openly call on the President to take responsibility for European integration and, in case of an appeal, which we will think about (this is an issue to be discussed with our partners), to take responsibility and release Nika Gvaramia.

This is not only about her political views, it is about the European future of Georgia, otherwise Nika Gvaramia is free in any case. He exemplified the most outstanding courage. We should understand that when she [the President] calls on political subjects to take responsibility, now is the time for her to take responsibility and use the pardon mechanism”, - said Khatia Dekanoidze.
