Hungary has a very positive bias towards Georgia, it means that an excellent baseline exists for negotiations - Victor Orban

Hungary has a very positive bias towards Georgia, it means that an excellent baseline exists for negotiations. Such a statement made Hungarian Prime Minister at the joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“I wish to tell the press that we had a lengthy discussion with Mr. Garibashvili yesterday, which was continued in a series of meetings today. Hungary has a very positive bias towards Georgia. It means that an excellent baseline exists for negotiations. Our countries are geographically distanced, as Georgia is in the Caucasus and we are here. It may be said that both differences and commonalities are plenty between our countries and it is not hard for us to understand the main idea pursued by Georgia and Georgian people. It is not hard to comprehend what is driving Georgia. Both countries have a rich history and equally rich cultural traditions. We have unique languages. Our culture and language should be maintained for the benefit of our nations and our history.

As for politics, it is a very important day today, as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary from regaining our diplomatic relations. As we exist in abnormal times and face unprecedented crises – be that price or energy crisis – we hold negotiations with various stakeholders. Very briefly, let me talk about this visit. We exchanged ideas and we seem to be very close on geopolitical affairs, peace and war issues. We have a great desire to see the Ukraine-Russia war end as soon as possible. Georgia has the same position on the matter”, - said Victor Orban.
