The employees of the Search Department under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a person wanted for a crime committed in 2002 - K.C. (DoB 1975) for the attempted murder under aggravating circumstances.

The investigation established that on September 4, 2002, near the square on Ninoshvili Street in Chiathura, the convict shot G.T. five times, while his accompanying person - K.V. inflicted a lethal wound to J.Z. Both persons fled from the scene of incident.

Wounded G.T. was taken to a medical facility, where appropriate treatment was provided to him, while J.Z. died the next day in the hospital.

Police arrested K.V. in 2004.

In 2002, based on the proceedings conducted by Chiatura District Division of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department, the court issued a guilty verdict on the criminal case against K.C. and announced him as wanted.

The arrested K.C. was transferred to a penitentiary facility.
