The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Anniken Huitfeldt.

The parties deliberated the friendly relations between Georgia and Norway. The Speaker underlined the productive cooperation in the development sphere, essentially facilitating the democratic development of Georgia. He welcomed the official opening of the Embassy of Norway in Tbilisi.

The parties overviewed the EU and NATO integration process of Georgia. The Speaker noted that against the background of the war in Ukraine, the NATO membership of Georgia and Ukraine acquires particular urgency for long-term security and peace.

The Norwegian politician gave a positive assessment to the participation of Georgia in the NATO Afghanistan mission and expressed gratitude for the prominent merit of Georgia in the evacuation processes from Afghanistan; the Minister affirmed the support of Norway to the territorial integrity and NATO aspiration of Georgia.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Majority, Factions and Political Groups.
