Tourism authorities of Georgia and Türkiye have held their first working meeting in Istanbul to deepen cooperation in the field of tourism.
According to the Ministry of Economy, participants expressed readiness to increase the frequency of flights between the countries and stressed the importance of bringing their public and private sectors “even closer together”.
The sides agreed it is important to offer and develop common tourism products, share experience with each other, raise service levels and deepen cooperation.
It should be mentioned that Georgia hosted 543,464 travelers from Türkiye in the first 9 months of 2022, an 141% increase year-on-year but 40% less compared to the pre-pandemic figures of 2019.
