The anti-corruption agency of Georgia’s state security service has charged the former and current directors of the Gori municipality culture and tourism department promotion agency for the neglect of official duties.

“The officials had not fulfilled their duties and had been ineffectively controlling the financial transfers made on behalf of the organisations. The accountant of the agency had benefited from the negligence of the suspects and had been transferring money to his/her personal bank accounts between January 21, 2020 – April 7, 2022, misappropriating budget funds worth GEL 370,479.

The accountant was arrested on April 14, 2022 by the anti-corruption agency for the offense of the misappropriation of budget funds”, - reads the statement of he agency.
