According to September data, international tourist visits increased by 83.9% compared to 2019. International tourist visits between January and September of 2022 have marked a 67.8% recovery from the pre-pandemic 2019 statistics.
According to the Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili, the number of international tourist visits had reached 2,704,133 in the reporting period, with the number included in the 3,892,605 international travellers with all purposes. The latter figure has marked a 53.8% recovery from the pre-pandemic figure.
A growth was also observed in the recovery of revenues from international tourism. A 94.6% recovery was recorded between January-August 2022 from the same period of 2019, and the revenue reached USD 2.1 billion.
