Economic growth indicators were officially released last week to evidence that 10.3% was the rate in the past 7 months - Irakli Garibashvili

Economic growth indicators were officially released last week to evidence that 10.3% was the rate in the past 7 months. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“I wish to once again tell our fellow citizens that economic growth indicators were officially released last week to evidence that 10.3% was the rate in the past 7 months. Once again, I wish to note that it is truly unprecedented for the entire world.

You may all be aware that huge challenges are faced against the background of current developments in Ukraine not only within Europe, but throughout the world, which experience a spillover effect and problems. Against this background, we manage to have a double-digit economic growth rate, which is very gratifying, of course. I wish to shortly note herewith what I said at the previous Executive Government Meeting.

Export volumes have risen significantly – by 40%. Also, I wish to let our fellow citizens know that remittances have been increased by 46.8%, thus exceeding 300 MLN USD. As for the private sector, I wish to tell our fellow citizens that business turnover has been increased substantially. Also, the level of employment has been rising both in Q1 and Q2. Lastly, let me note that business turnover was increased by 25% in January-June 2022, which is a very gratifying indicator, of course”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
