The sixth international conference Glory to Ukraine, featuring top-level leaders from Europe and the US, opened in Tbilisi to discuss the new political and security reality created as a result of the war in the country, the threats facing modern democracy and the future of European security.

Before that, the participants honored those who died in Ukraine with a moment of silence.

The event is hosted by the McCain Institute for International Leadership, the George W. Bush Institute, and the Center for Economic Policy Research.

The topics of the panel discussion are: Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the West’s reaction; geopolitical consequences of military aggression; unrest in the region; the impact of the war on the future of Europe; Democracy versus authoritarianism; where is Georgia going; information wars; Russia’s next steps; threats of authoritarianism and kleptocracy/corruption; US in all of this.

The conference will run through Tuesday, September 6.
