Opening of Turkish pharmaceutical market will result in yearly GEL 180-200 mln savings from population side. Such a statement made today the Minister of Health.
“After opening of Turkish market import of medicines is ongoing intensively. Record-breaking rate was set in August. 6,4 mln GEL costed medicines were imported to the country.
As a result of Prime Minister’s initiative, citizens saved around 80 mln GEL on medicines. Opening of Turkish pharmaceutical market will result in yearly 180-200 mln GEL savings from population side.
Besides opening of Turkish market, the Ministry is working on setting reference prices with purpose of reducing price of the medicines. Within the reform, upper ceiling for prices will be set and this will significantly reduce the prices. Such practice has been already successfully introduced in various countries.
The Ministry is working on this reform together with international experts. At varying times and in various countries these experts have been involved in successful implementation of these projects”, - said Zurab Azarashvili.
