The Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs - Giorgi Butkhuzi and Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, together with members of the government, leadership of Shida Kartli Police Department and representatives of the local self-government, laid wreaths on the graves of 17 heroes who died during the August 2008 war in Shindisi. They paid tribute to the memory of the fallen heroes.
In the village of Shindisi, a memorial service was held to commemorate the souls of the fallen fighters. Family members of the deceased also attended the heroes’ memorial.
14 years have passed since the Shindisi fight. On August 11, 2008, 17 Georgian soldiers died heroically during an unequal clash with the Russian military unit.
