As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, accused and brought to the criminal liability four persons on the fact of manufacturing and using forged tax documents as a group.

Investigation determined that the accused persons, in order to receive illegal material benefits, during 2019, were purchasing wheat of Georgian origin without appropriate documentation, later, the mentioned goods were sold as wheat of Russian origin, by this action purchasing companies were receiving false VAT inclusive.

It has been determined, that as a result of the mentioned operations, the companies illegally received GEL 310 714 of VAT inclusive from the state budget.

As a result of the tax audits carried out within the investigation, the above-mentioned false VAT inclusive was completely annulled.

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 210, of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
