De-oligarchization is an insult to Georgian democracy - Shalva Papuashvili

De-oligarchization is an insult to Georgian democracy, because they say that this country is not governed by the Government elected by the Georgian people, but this Government is a facade and acts under someone’s instruction. Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Parliament.

“The content of this letter is as follows: when it comes to oligarchy, the main problem here is not who they are talking about as an oligarch, the main problem is who they are talking about as the Government.

When this country has an elected Parliament, a Government elected by the Parliament, when someone uses this term in this context, it refers to the Georgian Dream.

Everyone who uses this term says that the Georgian Dream is actually not the government, but is acting under someone’s instruction, that is, I, as the Speaker of the Parliament, do not make decisions, but act according to someone else’s instruction, and I am only a facade, that the Prime Minister does not make the decision, but he is a facade.

This is what the interpreters who associate this term with Bidzina Ivanishvili want to assert, and if this is the interpretation, then it implies that it is absolutely unacceptable for Georgian democracy to call the Government a ruled, a facade, an imitation, or something else.

Therefore, the definition of this term is important, and among them, it is important for some members of the European Parliament to distance themselves from the dishonest definition of this term”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
