Georgia celebrates feast of Saints Peter and Paul

Orthodox Christians are celebrating today the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul (Petrepavloba).

Festive services will be held in all churches across the country to mark the occasion.

The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is a liturgical feast in honour of the martyrdom believed to have taken place in Rome of the apostles Saint Peter and Saint Paul, which is observed on July 12 (in the modern calendar). The celebration is of ancient origin with the date selected being the anniversary either of their death or of the translation of their relics.
