Key Government positions are occupied today by people whom Bidzina Ivanishvili has not even met, reads the statement, released by the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“When Ivanishvili announced his entry into politics, I did not hesitate for a second. I was aware of the risks associated with my decision. However, not only because of my attitude towards Bidzina Ivanishvili, but also because of the country’s interests, I decided to actively participate in the struggle for democratic transition.

I would like to remind the public that the key Government positions - Ministers of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Justice, Finance and Health - are occupied today by people whom Bidzina Ivanishvili has not even met. He met with most of the leaders of the parliamentary team, including the Speaker of the Parliament and the head of several key committees, only on the day of their presentation before the parliamentary elections. Talking about Ivanishvili managing and controlling the Government and the Parliament is a complete farce and absurdity.

I also want to remind you that even after leaving the team, my predecessors, Giorgi Gakharia and Giorgi Kvirikashvili, also denied the interference of Bidzina Ivanishvili in the Prime Minister’s affairs.

In such conditions, an objective observer can only have a theoretical suspicion Ivanishvili could be involved in making any specific key decisions. In today’s situation, there can be only 2 such key decisions: not to impose sanctions on Russia and not to involve Georgia in the war”, - reads the statement of Irakli Garibashvili.
