The Ukrainian city of Nikolayev will ban the Russian language at schools starting on September 1, said Yekaterina Stokolyas, a member of the Nikolayev city council’s executive committee.

“The executive committee voted to ban the use of the Russian language in secondary educational institutions in Nikolayev. From September 1, there will be no electives, courses, primary school classes instructing in Russian, or design of the educational environment”, - she wrote on Facebook.
