Street in Tbilisi has been named after Sergo Parajanov. The Lane of Kote Meskhi Street located in Mtatsminda district is named after acclaimed film director.

He lived on Kote Meskhi Street for years. On his way home Parajanov had to pass the very lane that is named after him.

Sergo Parajanov was a Soviet film director and artist who made significant contributions to Ukrainian, Armenian and Georgian cinema. He invented his own cinematic style, which was totally out of step with the guiding principles of socialist realism - the only officially sanctioned art style in the USSR.
