Georgian filmmaker Giorgi Shengelaia died at the age of 82.

Since 1961 he has directed 14 films. His film The Journey of a Young Composer was entered into the 36th Berlin International Film Festival where he won the Silver Bear for Best Director.

Giorgi Shengelaia was a Rustaveli Prize Laureate and People’s Artist of Georgia.
