Another person - V.B. – was detained over the Dampalo cemetery murder in Varketili. Such a statement made the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.

“It was determined that on January 2, 2020, at night, two persons, known as M.Ch. and M.Ts., were in Tbilisi, more specifically, in Varketili, at Dampalo cemetery, with two other individuals - Z.P. and V. B. - also being there. A verbal altercation occurred following the illegal attempt by M.Ch and M.Ts. to get hold of Z.P.’s car.

Along with V.B, the man accompanying him, known as Z.P., tried to stop the individuals mentioned above.

The conflict continued for a few minutes during which Z.P. and V. B. inflicted fatal bodily injuries upon M.T., with this resulting in his subsequent death. Another person, M.Ch., suffered physical pain following the group beating”, - reads the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office.

A special forces team member has also been detained over the Dampalo cemetery murder. He is already sentenced to pretrial detention. He has confessed to the crime.
