The Minister of Foreign Affairs and UN Under Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo talked about Vazha Gaprindashvili and his illegal sentencing to prison by the Tskhinvali so-called court in a phone conversation. 

Davit Zalkaliani and DiCarlo have stated that the abduction and the sentencing of the doctor is absolutely unacceptable, that it is a destructive action which further complicates the already severe  humanitarian situation on the ground. It was stated that the consolidated response of the international community to such illegal actions is of vital importance. 

The Minister thanked the UN for its attention to the issue and its involvement for the release of the doctor.
