The Prime Minister would have the opportunity to address the leaders at the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference in Baku, where, among other things, the specific plans would be announced on what steps the Government would take together with the international community to minimise the various challenges and risks caused by climate change. Such a statement made today the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“It is vital that leaders discuss collective efforts and specific steps to reduce risks associated with climate change. During the conference, Irakli Kobakhidze will participate in several working groups, where he will have the opportunity to contribute to discussions and explore avenues for international cooperation.

His address to leaders will highlight Georgia’s strategic initiatives to minimise climate risks, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to sustainable development.

The Prime Minister also held a meeting with the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, reinforcing the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Renewable energy is one of our Government’s main priorities. We aim for the country to utilise all available resources in this area as systematically as possible. Our region, in particular, holds significant potential in this regard, and we are working on a highly important project with our Azerbaijani partners: the Black Sea submarine cable project.

This project, of course, will contribute to diversifying Europe’s energy supply. Additionally, when we talk about enhancing connectivity, this project will help strengthen our country’s role in Europe’s energy security”, - said Ilia Darchiashvili.
