The Prime Minister of Georgia highlighted the country’s commitment to the European Union integration and the importance of international partners" support in the process in his meeting with the President of the European Council.
Held on the sidelines of the V Summit of the European Political Community in Budapest, Hungary, the meeting of Irakli Kobakhidze with Charles Michel focused on the relations between the EU and Georgia.
They also discussed the ongoing political developments in Georgia, with the Head of the Government reiterating his Government’s readiness for “open and sincere discussion”.
As Irakli Kobakhidze said after the meeting, it was “very friendly and constructive”.
“I discussed the situation in Georgia with Charles Michel, including that it is very difficult for the opposition to mobilise people, the opposition lacks popular support. Under such conditions, I think that things will go much easier than they did four years ago. The opposition has no resources. In this case, it has much less resources than he had four years ago. I reiterated to Michel once again that we are absolutely open to any discussion, we are absolutely flexible. We have indicated our readiness for discussions and this is our open position”, - said the Prime Minister.
