Russia strikes Kharkiv high-rise with guided bombs, casualties reported

Late in the evening on October 30, Russia once again attacked Kharkiv, said the Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, writes RBC Ukraine.

“An explosion was heard in Kharkiv, and the relevant services have been dispatched to investigate the site of the KAB (guided aerial bomb - Ed.) hit”, the message reads at 10:51 PM Kyiv time. A few minutes later, Terekhov clarified that, according to preliminary information, a guided aerial bomb hit a multi-story building. There are casualties as a result of the attack.

According to Syniehubov, the strike occurred in the Saltivskyi district: “There is a hit on the fourth floor of the apartment building. Preliminary reports indicate there are victims, including those under the rubble. Emergency services are continuing search”.

Later, Oleh Syniehubov informed that almost the entire entrance of the building was destroyed due to the Russian strike, and civilian vehicles were damaged. A fire broke out at the site of the explosion: “Rescuers are conducting search operations and extinguishing the fire”.

Mayor Terekhov informed that there were people blocked on the upper floors of the entrance. Efforts are underway to rescue them: “10 injured have been examined. 2 are in serious condition – 11-year-old child and a 22-year-old man”.
