The Government of Georgia declared Friday, October 25, a holiday. Such a decision was made in response to a request by the Central Election Commission [CEC].
According to the CEC, voting stations at public schools and kindergartens may be difficult to set up throughout the working day.
“Out of 3,031 election precincts, 483 are in kindergartens, 1,675 are in public schools, and 873 are in other facilities. Based on the fact that, especially in public schools and kindergartens, where election precincts are located, various activities and activities are carried out on working days, which can hinder the timely and peaceful arrangement of the election precincts, it is requested to declare October 25, 2024 as a public holiday”, - explains the Central Election Commission.
