We will do everything to ensure that October 26 elections are held in a free and competitive environment - Kobakhidze

The Prime Minister of Georgia said the Government was “doing everything” to ensure that the October 26 Parliamentary elections are held in a “free and competitive environment”.

Irakli Kobakhidze underlined the pre-election period was running in a “free and competitive environment”, which he said was confirmed by the interim report published last week by the OSCE/ODIHR.

“The Government is responsible for managing the election processes in the same spirit, and we will do everything for it. We hope that the opposition will act in the same spirit to some extent.

There will be no provocations and such events as the destruction of ruling party campaign materials, billboards, erasing of ‘No to War’ inscriptions on billboards, and more", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
