Congratulations on the restoration of the historic cable car! Projects like this contribute to creating more opportunities and further developing the capital - Kobakhidze

I would like to congratulate everyone on the restoration of the historic cable car, which will serve every Tbilisi resident and every citizen of our country, said the Prime Minister of Georgia during his speech at the opening ceremony of the cable car connecting Rustaveli Avenue and Mtatsminda Park.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, such projects help create more opportunities for the capital and contribute to its further development. He highlighted the excellent taste and high quality of the project execution and expressed his gratitude to Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi. Irakli Kobakhidze also noted that the government"s support for the implementation of such projects will continue in the future.

“Projects like this are essential for the development of the city. We are proud of our wonderful capital and taking care of this city is the duty and responsibility of each of us. We will continue to act with this responsibility in the future”, - noted the Prime Minister.

The guests at the cable car opening ceremony were also addressed by Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi; Giorgi Sharkov, CEO of Tbilisi Transport Company and Gela Dighmelashvili, CEO of Mtatsminda Park.

As part of the rehabilitation of the cable car connecting Rustaveli Avenue and Mtatsminda Park, the interior of the lower station was completely renovated, the upper station was constructed and five supporting structures were built. The cable car will be able to transport 1200 passengers per hour in one direction, covering the distance in 4 minutes.

The project cost is 50 MLN GEL.
