Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia together with Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure visited the Zviad Gamsakhurdia Youth Center, Library and Museum in Zugdidi today.
According to the Head of Government of Georgia, the center will be an exceptional space for young people to pursue their interests.
"This is a multifunctional center dedicated to youth. The project has been executed to the highest standards and with top quality. It will be an excellent space for young people, where they can pursue their interests. It is very important that such a center named after Zviad Gamsakhurdia is being opened in Zugdidi, and similar projects will continue in the future. Taking care of the realization of youth interests is a key priority for us, and naturally, we will continue to do a lot in this direction," stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
The library was built near the Dadiani Palace. The 3000-square-meter building houses a modern multifunctional center that includes a reading room equipped with the latest technology, a media library, workspaces, lecture hall, conference rooms, exhibition and museum halls, as well as spaces for administrative offices.
The building of the youth center also provides for the presence of a tourist information center, and exhibitions will be organized in the museum space.
The construction of the Zugdidi Youth Center was carried out by the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) under the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI), co-financed from the State Budget and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The project costs have amounted to 18.8 MLN GEL.
Members of the Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of the local authorities accompanied the Prime Minister of Georgia to the Zviad Gamsakhurdia Youth Center.
