Everyone should go to the polls “en masse” on October 26 to protect peace, the country’s interests, and the prosperity of our families - Kaladze

Everyone should go to the polls “en masse” on October 26 to protect peace, the country’s interests, and the prosperity of our families. The Mayor of Tbilisi said this at a regional event in Batumi for the ruling party election campaign.

“We remember the regime, which was completely based on violence and trampled on all fundamental human rights, how the so-called Western friends called it a beacon of democracy, while many crimes were committed against Georgian citizens: young people were shot in the streets, prisons were full of businessmen whose property had been seized, the media was raided, the right to express one’s opinion and to elect was completely unprotected.

This happened openly in front of everyone in the XXI century, when there was no problem of access to information.

All this was assessed as a beacon of democracy in the West. Why? The answer is simple: specific foreign powers needed and need a Government that will pursue their interests and policies at the expense of Georgia’s interests.

It is important to give a legal assessment to all this if we want to achieve de-occupation and reunification of Georgia, if we want the country to maintain peace and the state to be governed only by protecting the interests of this country and its citizens.

For this, the Georgian Dream [party] needs to secure a constitutional majority. Your support, maximum mobilisation is crucial for Georgia"s future”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
