The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed condolences over the passing of Givi Shahnazar - poet, translator and public figure who died at the age of 91.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Shahnazar, a distinguished poet, translator, and esteemed public figure. His role in further strengthening the friendship between Georgian and Armenian people is outstanding. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and our entire society”, - writes Irakli Kobakhidze.

He also highlighted Shahnazar"s “significant” contributions to Georgian literature and his role in “shaping the cultural and public life of the nation”.
