As soon as the Amnesty Law comes into force, more than 1,000 prisoners will leave the prison, and more than 5,000 will be released gradually. Such a statement made Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction.

“The following days we will discuss the Amnesty Law, which will ultimately affect up to 6,000 prisoners at various times and in various forms, of which more than 1,000 will leave the prison immediately after the law comes into force, and more than 5,000 will leave the prison at various times.

This is one of the largest amnesties and, despite many speculations, we are doing a good job and people will be given the opportunity to re-socialize, which is taken into account when sentencing”, - said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
