Russia conducts drone attack on Kyiv for third time in a week

Russia on Thursday attacked Kyiv for a third time in a week, with Ukrainian military saying it shot down around 15 Russian drones over the country’s capital, writes France24.

Ukraine’s military said it attacked oil storage facilities on Wednesday in Russia’s Rostov and Kirov regions. A field artillery depot in Russia’s Voronezh region was also attacked.

The Kremlin on Wednesday dismissed Ukrainian President’s plan to end the war with Russia. Kyiv has not revealed full details of the plan, which will be revealed to US President Joe Biden and his 2 potential successors, said Volodymyr Zelensky.

Ukrainian President said that the situation around the eastern city of Pokrovsk, a key logistics hub in the Donetsk region, was now “extremely difficult”.

Ukrainian troops are intent on retaining the Russian territory they have seized for “some period of time” and an expected Russian counteroffensive will be a difficult fight, deputy CIA Director David Cohen said on Wednesday.
