The construction of three 12-storey buildings on Nikea Street in Kutaisi is nearing completion. Within the framework of the project, 720 IDP families will receive modern, renovated apartments. The cost of the project is more than GEL 77 million.
The construction of apartments for displaced families is also underway in Kutaisi, on Shervashidze Street. In total, in a few months, fully renovated apartments will be given to 1 040 families in Kutaisi.
Giorgi Tsagareishvili, Deputy Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection from the Occupied Territories, got acquainted with the progress of the construction works of the modern standard residential complex, together with the Director of the Agency for IDPs Zurab Utiashvili and Kutaisi Majority Deputy Zaza Lominadze.
According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, an unprecedented large-scale resettlement program started in 2023. Residential complexes are being built simultaneously in 5 cities of the country - Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Rustavi and Borjomi. Within the framework of the project 13,000 IDP families will receive living space.
