Against the backdrop of expected high temperatures in the coming days, the Emergency Situations Service warns population

The Emergency Management Service [EMS] warned population about an expected rise in air temperature across Georgia in the coming days, noting the development would increase the risk of forest and field fires.

The agency urged citizens to “show high responsibility” and avoid lighting fires on agricultural lands and near forests or fields, and not leave fire pits unattended.

The EMS has also issued a warning on leaving household waste in open environments and pointed to risk of spontaneous combustion, asking people to call the 112 emergency number immediately if they noticed smoke or fire.
