The Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the General Prosecutor’s Office arrested 19 individuals for drug-related crimes, including 6 identified as drug dealers.
Among the detained persons are both Georgian and foreign citizens. Based on the court orders, the law enforcers carried out controlled purchases from the suspects, recording these transactions through secret audio and video equipment.
During the search of the detainees’ residences and locations they identified, police seized a significant quantity of various narcotic substances, including heroin, cocaine, MDMA, pregabalin, methadone, alpha-PVP, buprenorphine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and Lyrica.
Besides, items potentially obtained from drug sales, such as cash, adhesive tapes, and electronic scales, were seized as evidence.
The charges carry potential sentences of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
