The Minister of Internal Affairs laid wreaths at the memorial of police officers killed in the 2008 war between Russia and Georgia, as part of events commemorating the 16th anniversary of the conflict.
Vakhtang Gomelauri, together with Deputy Interior Ministers and heads of departments of MIA, paid tribute to those who sacrificed themselves in service of the homeland during the 2008 war.
The 2008 war claimed the lives of 14 employees of the MIA and 5 others from the body’s Coast Guard Department.
