Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia attended a civil memorial service at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity for those repatriated from the occupied region of Abkhazia, who had been missing since the armed conflicts of the 1990s.
The Head of Government of Georgia, together with MP Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and members of the executive and legislative authorities of the country, offered condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased.
A total of 16 identified individuals, including 7 military personnel and 9 civilians, were repatriated with the cooperation of the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and the International Committee of the Red Cross [ICRC].
Four fighters will be buried with military honors at the Dighomi Brothers Cemetery, while the others will be interred in family cemeteries according to the wishes of their families.
