The Honorary Chairman of Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, congratulates the Georgian Olympians on the great success achieved at the Paris Olympics.

“I congratulate our proud judoists, Tato Grigalashvili, Lasha Bekauri and Ilia Sulamanidze, on their great success at the Olympics.

24-year-old Tato Grigalashvili is already three-time world champion, three-time European champion and Olympic vice-champion. Tato has everything ahead of him and I am sure he will become an Olympic champion at the next Olympics.At the age of 24, Lasha Bekauri is already a legend of Georgian judo and Georgian sports in general. I am sure that Lasha will fully fulfill the promise made 3 years ago and will win the third Olympic gold in 4 years.

23-year-old Ilia Sulamanidze achieved the greatest success at the very first Olympic Games, he won a silver medal, and the Georgian Olympic team won the third medal. Bigger victories, including at the next Olympic Games, await Ilya. I wish success to our Olympians. I am sure that there are many more victories ahead of us”, - reads the congratulatory letter.

As the press service of Georgian Dream explains, 2 weeks ago the Honorary Chairman of the party tested positive for coronavirus, that’s why the publication of the congratulatory letter was delayed. Currently, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s health condition is satisfactory.
