Georgian Foreign Minister met the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia. Ilia Darchiashvili and Miroslav Wlachovsky discussed bilateral ties and Tbilisi’s European integration prospects on the sidelines of the Global Security Forum in Bratislava.
The officials hailed the “friendly relations and close partnership” between their states, and discussed ways to further strengthen the existing cooperation.
The discussion largely focused on Georgia’s European integration process ahead of the EU’s forthcoming decision by the end of this year whether to grant Georgia its membership candidate status. Darchiashvili said he hoped Slovakia would support granting the status to Georgia.
