Air route development is crucial for boosting economic growth and job creation. By enhancing connectivity between countries, it facilitates trade, tourism, and investment, ultimately contributing to a region"s overall development and competitiveness.

To support the Air Rote Development, The USAID Economic Security Program provided technical assistance to United Airports of Georgia (UAG) to enhance passenger air travel in Georgia and facilitate recruitment of new airlines in the Georgian market.

In order to get familiar with the project findings, USAID/Georgia Deputy Mission Director, David Hoffman together with the USAID Economic Security Program representatives visited David the Builder Kutaisi International Airport today.

During the visit, an international consultant James Liu who with the USAID Economic Security Program’s support worked with UAG to refine the market assessment for Georgia provided the presentation highlighting top unserved destinations and key airlines for the development of commercial offers.

In addition to the air route development project, representatives of UAG underlined different initiatives implemented over the past 4 years with the USAID Economic Security Program’s support, such as: Aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Establishment Feasibility Study Development, practical trainings for the airport staff in key operational activities and etc.
