Georgia and Azerbaijan will be able to exchange 1,000 MW of power “smoothly” once the project of the Gardabani 500 substation in southern Georgia is completed. Such a statement made today Georgian Deputy Economy Minister.
“With a total budget of GEL 20 million, would help increase the reliability of synchronous operation with Azerbaijan. Moreover, the completion of the project, especially during the winter season, will significantly increase [consistent] electricity supply”, - said Romeo Mikautadze.
The construction of the infrastructure was launched in April 2021 as part of the 2022-2032 development plan for transmission lines in the country.
