Discussion of the new Defense Code to resume at today’s plenary session. As it known, the Parliament of Georgia backed the proposal to consider the Government’s legislative initiative on the Defense Code.

The project aims to improve the effectiveness of defense force management and to create a single codified legal act in the field of defense.

The draft of amendments, prepared based on the model of the Finnish and Baltic countries, provides for a one-time postponement of military service as well as conditions for alternative military service.
