James Cleverly, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, is already in Tbilisi.

The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Teimuraz Janjalia and the British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton met him at the Airport.

As British Ambassador said, Cleverly’s visit is “a great honour and privilege”, as the Foreign Minister has not been on an official visit to Georgia since 2016.

The British Foreign Minister will hold meetings with his Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili and the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. He will also visit the occupation line to get acquainted with the current situation in the area.
