I’ve personally been to Georgia and have experienced what it means to be stumari [guest] in Georgia - Exhibition Director of ITB Berlin

Deborah Rothe, the Exhibition Director of ITB Berlin, an international tourism fair that starts in Berlin, said that the show was putting the “spotlight” on Georgia through its Host Country status.

“We have over 100,000 people coming to the IBT Berlin from all over the world to explore the countries who are represented in all these halls, in over 30 halls. That is why it is important to be the Host Country, because the spotlight is on your country. You have the possibility to organize events, to show the cultural heritage of the country.

Georgia can offer a lot for global tourism. Georgia is the hidden pearl of the world, which everyone wants to see. You should visit Georgia to discover what tourist opportunities this beautiful country has.

Last year I travelled to Georgia and visited Kakheti. I really fell in love with this wine region and local people. As a person, a tourist, a traveler and a professional,

I’ve personally been to Georgia and have experienced what it means to be stumari [guest] in Georgia. I’m convinced that Georgian hospitality will win all our hearts here at the ITB. It was an excellent choice to be chosen as the official host country of ITB Berlin 2023, which is the largest tourism and travel professional gathering in the world. We are welcoming 5000 exhibiting companies from 161 countries, and one country is standing out. This is Georgian this year. I’m looking forward to making many new business contacts, but especially to feel Georgia with all senses and to make many new friends”, - said the Exhibition Director.
