Police arrested 11 people on the charges of promoting prostitution and providing lodging to prostitution

As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions conducted together with the General Prosecutor’s Office, the employees of the main division of the division of the fight against organized crime under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the division of the fight against trafficking and illegal migration, arrested 11 people.

The following persons are arrested on charges of promoting prostitution and providing lodging to prostitution with prior agreement: D.E. (DoB 1967), N.B. (DoB 1974), G.C. (DoB 1967), N.O. (DoB 1988), T Sh. (DoB1982), D.Kh. (DoB 1971), also persons convicted for various crimes in past - I.Ch. (DoB 1970), G.K. (DoB1981), R.K. (DoB 1980), Z.K. (DoB1979), and N.D. (DoB 1964).

The committed crimes envision from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that the defendants systematically provided hotel rooms located on Khizanishvili, Chiranakhuli and Agladze streets in Tbilisi to women engaged in prostitution in exchange for certain amount of cash for customer service.

The mentioned women paid a certain amount of cash to the defendants received from their illegal business.

The law enforcement officers, as a result of search activities conducted in the hotels, seized the money received as a result through promotion of prostitution as evidence.

The investigation is being carried out under Article 254, Part III and Part III, Sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies promoting prostitution and providing lodging to prostitution with prior agreement.
