Prime Minister of Georgia held an Executive Government meeting

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia held an Executive Government Meeting at the Government Administration today. The Cabinet of Ministers discussed 11 agenda items.

Action Plan for 2023 under the Vision 2030 – Development Strategy of Georgia – was approved at the meeting. It was drafted under the coordination of the Government Administration and with active engagement of public institutions. Plan covers concrete activities to be carried out by the Government of Georgia during the current year with an aim of achieving the goals set along 4 priority areas.

Implementation of the Action Plan of the Government of Georgia for 2023 will be monitored by the Government Administration in two phases. Initially, progress achieved within the semi-annual reporting period will be analyzed, as it aims to present the most recent information about the implementation of activities in line with the Action Plan. After the completion of the current year, the Annual Monitoring Report will be drafted to showcase the implementation process of the Action Plan throughout the year. Annual Reports will be published on the official website of the Government of Georgia.

Vision 2030 – Development Strategy of Georgia – is a policy document at the national level. It covers the key elements of the country’s development vision for 2030 and includes all the priority areas of development. Logical Framework is enclosed to the document with an aim of measuring and evaluating the implementation of the Strategy, with the applicable qualitative and quantitative indicators.

The Government of Georgia also adopted a Strategy for the Public Administration Reform (PAR) for 2023-2026 at the Executive Meeting today, along with an Action Plan for 2023-2024. Documents were drafted under the coordination of the Government Administration.

Public Administration Reform (PAR) was launched in 2015 within the scope of an EU-Georgia Association Agreement and covers the following significant directions: policy planning and coordination, civil service, accountability, public funds management (PFM) and delivery of public services.

Activities have been planned within the scope of the Strategy to ensure the planning and facilitated management of evidence-based and result-oriented policies by the Government of Georgia, along with a strengthened civil service, accountability of the Government, improved openness and degree of transparency, and simplified delivery of services to citizens of the country.

Public institutions, local and international organizations, including the European Union (EU), Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Support for Improvement in Government and Management (SIGMA), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) were actively engaged in the development of the new strategy for Public Administration Reform (PAR).
